I love my turtle! I had my eye on this for a while. But then I got my 20% off coupon. I grabbed my daughter in law and we went to Kirkland's. We both bought a turtle..and then some!
A month later I saw a concrete turtle at the statuary. I bought him too. Lesson learned about those cement pieces....they are VERY heavy and impossible to move without a fork lift! I wish I had invested in another turtle from Kirkland's instead.
Hopefully Kirkland's will create some friends to keep my turtle company!

Can you please confirm the weight of this item? The weight noted seems far too light when considering that it's made partially from concrete.

I didn't know there was concrete in the turtle, but there may be some in the molding process. The turtle is not solid, but it is constructed very well for durability. I did plug the holes in the bottom of the turtle as I have learned that the wasps like to make nests in my outdoor ornamental decorations...such as my bird houses.

Will the tortoise survive small children sitting on it?

I am considering this in a children's garden. Is is sturdy enough to hold a small child to sit on? If so, how large a child?
Though the turtle is heavy, I wouldn't recommend it to be a toy for child to play on.
