Very difficult to get the beverage out of the dispenser with the attached spout and it leaked a lot. I had set it up on a beverage table with another dispenser that I purchased from Kirkland's. This one leaked ALL OVER the floor so much so that I had to move furniture and mop. I recommend spending a little more on a different dispenser. I especially loved the one with the stand and chalkboard sign. This purchase wasn't a bust as it's only $16 but I would recommend a different one.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Can it dispense smoothies or are they too thick for it?
I used it for a party and made a punch with Lemonade that contained pulp. While it worked well, I did have to stir it occasionally in order for it not to clog the spout. I wouldn't think it would work for a thicker drink.
