This is hanging in my living room on the far side wall, and it is surprisingly light weight to be as big as it is. Hanging it was pretty easy, but we did have to anchor the bottom to the wall to keep it flush, but that was easy to do with two small screws. This piece is a great buy for a very impressive look. You won't be disappointed.

The description says it is hung vertically, can I hang this horizontal?

Yes. I think it would be just as impressive hung horizontally.
